What's up at a tea festival?
This, like tea festivals in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Pennsylvania, Australia, Great Britain, China and India is a festival focused on experiencing a wide range of tea. We want to give you the tools and the passion to hold your own afternoon tea or tasting events or just cultivate a lifelong love of tea and different cultures and that means exposing you to as many different teas and tea traditions as we possibly can! To further that mission, we are gathering together some tea industry experts from around the world to speak on several topics on our Main Stage and in our workshops.
Tea is the fastest growing beverage of interest in the United States right now for many reasons. Some drink it for the purported health benefits, some for the peace and focus brought by the simple ritual of preparation, some for the taste, and some for the infinite variety of the leaf on the endless journey of discovery. Whatever your reason for drinking tea and however you take it - with or without milk and sugar, hot or cold, Eastern or Western style - you'll find something to interest you at the festival. You don't have to be a devoted tea drinker either to have a good time with us. Even if you are just tea-curious, you are sure to find something that tickles your fancy over this 3 day event.
If you are already working in the tea industry, there will be special workshops with an industry-centric focus. You can network with peers as well as with the tea-drinking consumer, connect with international suppliers and freshen up your tea knowledge.
We will have a limited number of passes available to the public for Industry Day, Friday, November 1 while industry and public together are welcome to the final two days. On Industry Day we will also offer three ticketed meal events to further engage you with well known and respected tea industry leaders, cultural dignitaries, and your peers in the industry.
Tickets will start at $25 for a one day consumer pass. With your ticket you will get a souvenir tea tasting cup for tasting all the tea samples in the vendor rooms, a reusable shopping tote filled with samples and other goodies and access to the lecture stage presentations & demonstrations.
Industry tickets will start at $35 and will be valid for all 3 days.
Workshops will be both lecture and hands-on format and will have additional fees set by the instructors.
