2019 Speakers & Instructors

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2019 Chicago International Tea Festival. We will accept proposals from potential speakers until April 30, 2019. We will be evaluating each proposal to ensure a good balance of topics for our attendees and will notify you of your selection by May 15, 2019 at the latest.

There will be 2 types of speaker positions available.

1. Main Stage Speaker. This is a 45 minute lecture style presentation with PowerPoint display available (but not required) for an audience of up to 150. Main stage speakers are uncompensated at this time. There will be one featured speaker who will receive a complimentary hotel room for 2 nights and an allowance for lunch on all 3 days. Any speaker without a booth may sell items from a shared table in the information center for a period of time after their appearance. Main Stage lectures will take place on Saturday & Sunday only.

2. Workshop Instructor. Please note that this can be informational or hands-on. This is a 1-3 hour time slot for a classroom style learning experience. Students will pay an additional fee for workshops which will be set after consultation with the instructor. Instructors will receive a percentage of student fees (percentage depends on several factors - for specifics please inquire with us via citfested@gmail.com). Workshops will be limited to 25-30 students. Some workshop rooms will have PowerPoint display capability but none will have mics and speakers as they are smaller rooms. If needed, Festival will provide heated water, steeping vessels and other commonly used equipment. Workshops will take place on all 3 days and topics may be repeated for more than one session.
