Friday, November 1, 6:30-8:00am: Breakfast with the Rock Stars of Tea $35

Note that you may purchase a ticket for this meal without having a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket but you will not be allowed into the vendor room and may not purchase tickets to any of the classes on Friday without a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket. 

This is a hearty buffet breakfast to be enjoyed in the company of some of the leading lights of the tea industry.  Stars will include: Author Kevin Gascoyne of Camellia Sinensis, Author Virgina Utermohlen-Lovelace MD of Pair Teas, Lorna Reeves of Tea Time Magazine, author Bruce Richardson of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas, Sharyn Johnston of Australian Tea Masters and America's Tea Sage, James Norwood Pratt! 

Our Rock Stars of Tea will take a few minutes to talk about topics we have selected for them and then you'll be able to ask them all any questions you like! Don't miss this opportunity to drop in before things really get going on Friday and pick the brains of some of the tea world mover and shakers that we all know and love while they are gathered together in one room!

The menu will feature:
Farm Fresh Scrambled Eggs
Breakfast Potatoes, Onions & Peppers
Crisp Bacon & Country Sausage Links
Apple Stuffed Pancakes with Whipped Butter & Maple Syrup
Breakfast Pastries
Whole Fruit

You do not have to be able to attend for the whole duration of this event, or even right when it starts.

Friday, November 1, 12:00pm-1:30pm: Lunch with Cultural Dignitaries $40

Note that you may purchase a ticket for this meal without having a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket but you will not be allowed into the vendor room and may not purchase tickets to any of the classes on Friday without a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket. 

This is a plated meal with our honored cultural guests. Join us for a lunch with representatives from the Nepalese, South African & Japanese consulates in Chicago,  and guests representing Korea, Assam, Sri Lanka, and others still to be announced, and listen to them discuss their respective culture's tea traditions. Tasting flight of teas from each region is included and may feature rare teas!

The menu will feature:
Bibb Lettuce Salad with Blueberries, Hearts of Palm and Slivered Almonds
Chicken Breast stuffed with Asiago Cheese, Grilled Asparagus and Basil Parmesan Sauce
Potato Wedges with Sea Salt, Chives & Truffle Oil
Garlic Green Beans with Fire Roasted Red Peppers
Flourless Chocolate Cake

If you require a vegetarian meal or have other dietary restrictions, you will have the opportunity to let us know when you purchase your meal ticket. 

Friday, November 1, 6:30-8:00pm: Opening Night Casual Cocktail Reception $35

Note that you may purchase a ticket for this meal without having a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket but you will not be allowed into the vendor room and may not purchase tickets to any of the classes on Friday without a 3 Day VIP or Industry admission ticket. 

Join us after the vendor floor closes on opening day. You can relax, have a little nibble or two and a drink. Chat with your new friends and reconnect with tried and true ones. Event staff will be available to field questions, listen to your feedback or address concerns that maybe didn't get addressed during the day. This will be an enjoyable and casual wrap to your day or start to your Friday evening in Chicago!

Light nibbles (including Italian antipasto and a seafood assortment)

One drink ticket per guest 

Cash bar will be available. 

Sunday, November 3, 2:30pm-4:00pm: Afternoon Tea Buffet $45

Note that you may purchase a ticket for this meal without having an admission ticket but you will not be allowed into the vendor room and may not attend any of the classes without an admission ticket. Any kind of admission ticket is suitable to get into the vendor room or purchase class tickets for Sunday. 

Join our featured speaker, Lorna Reeves, Editor of Tea Time Magazine, for an afternoon tea buffet. Savories, sweets and a selection of teas will be included in the menu. Enjoy a civilized nosh as Lorna shares her wealth of knowledge about tea, afternoon tea, traditions and other tidbits.

Opening Ceremony: A Cup of Tea In Friendship

Included with any admission. 

Our cultural representatives and dignitaries from various Chicago consulates will open our festival by sharing a cup of tea in friendship with each other, demonstrating how tea brings the world together. Join us for this special international event at the entrance to the Sauganash vendor room before we turn you loose to taste all the teas!

People's Choice Tea Competition

(sponsored by the International Tea Cuppers Club)

Included with any admission

As part of your admission ticket, you get the chance to be a judge for our friendly tea tasting competition. Vendors will enter teas in the contest. You will have voting tickets in your swag bags and a list of vendors who are entered. You can visit their booths at your pace and taste the entries. Vote right there at the booth, no special ballots or rooms required! 

Then on Sunday, November 3 at 2:00pm we will announce the winners. Or... you can catch the winners on our post-festival email (sign up here!) and on our social media! (FB: @chicagoteafest or IG: @chiteafest)

Taste the World in a Cup Passport

Included with any admission

In your swag bag you will get a Passport to Tea! Collect passport stamps at each vendor booth in the passport. Bring a completely filled passport book to registration before 3:00pm on Sunday, November 3 and you will receive a small prize! In the interest of full disclosure, this prize is just a very small token of the fun you will have had going around the world in a cup of tea. It has no significant monetary value - it's just for fun!
